Woodmancote
Evangelical Free Church

The church location

Woodmancote Evangelical Free Church is located in the Gloucestershire county village of Woodmancote, England, U.K.

Having its own identity and character, the village of Woodmancote nestles comfortably within the shadow of Nottingham Hill, which itself abutts the prominent Cotswold Escarpment of Cleeve Hill.

Over the years, Woodmancote has slowly expanded and has become interlinked with the expanding village of Bishops Cleeve. Both villages are situated approximately 3 miles north of Cheltenham.

See the more detailed map below for the exact location of the church and directions on how to find the church:

From Bishop's Cleeve:

Coming from Bishop's Cleeve you will need to locate Station Road (see map above). Proceed up the entire length of Station Road and you will enter the village of Woodmancote. Look out for the village sign depicting the 'Tree on the Green'. You will pass the small group of shops on your right, which includes the local post office, and come upon a small 'green' with a tree (the symbol on the village sign post). Take the left hand turn and proceed up Stockwell Lane for approximately 200 yards. You will come across the church on your left hand side. Parking, for which we thank the owners, can be found within the local pub next door! (The Apple Tree).

From Prestbury or Southam Village

Coming from Prestbury (Cheltenham) direction, take the B4632 Winchcombe road. After approximately 1 mile, you will enter the village of Southam. Taking the second left turning for Woodmancote, proceed through Southam along New Road. Continuing along New Road you will enter Woodmancote and come upon the 'Tree on the Green'. Take the right turn up Stockwell Lane and follow the directions to the church as above.

From Winchcombe

Coming from Winchcombe down the B4632 there are a number of different routes you can take depending on the strength of your car brakes and your nerve! For the less adventurous, continue down the B4632 until entering Southam and take the first right hand turn to Woodmancote. Directions to the church are as above.
Alternatively, coming down the B4632, you can take one of three narrow and very steep lanes, Bushcombe Lane, Stockwell Lane or Gambles Lane. See the detailed map above.

Should you decide to visit us, please take advantage of the map(s) and directions above. Rest assured, you will be made very welcome.
